DONA Certified Birth Doula
Bereavement Doula
I am a Birth Doula in the greater Charlotte area. I grew up at the base of the Blue Ridge mountains and settled in the Charlotte area after receiving my bachelors degree in Biology and Psychology at Belmont Abbey College. I married my wonderful husband in December of 2022, and we welcomed our first little boy the following October!
My interest in Doula work began while I was pursuing a Biology/Psychology degree at Belmont Abbey College in Charlotte, NC. After volunteering at Mira Via, a home for pregnant college students on my college campus, my desire to help young women navigate a healthy and joyful pregnancy began to grow. This desire only increased once I myself experienced how stressful and overwhelming it can be to be a young woman receiving medical care alone in a hospital setting.
I then began my Birth Doula training and have been loving every moment of caring for and supporting women and families throughout their entire pregnancy. I especially have a huge passion for helping women who have experienced a traumatic birth or suffered from a miscarriage, and hope to bring them some comfort and confidence in any future pregnancy and birth.
I have spent the last several years supporting mothers and families as a birth doula in hospitals, birthing centers and home births. I cannot wait to expand my services to extensive postpartum work, birth education classes and more. My dream is to return to school to become a certified Midwife and continue supporting families in the Charlotte area and beyond.
I incorporate and highly encourage my clients to use hypnobirthing preparation techniques, collect pain relief tools tailored to their very specific emotional and physical needs, and to include their spouse in every second of birth and postpartum preparation. My goal is to help you feel prepared and confident throughout your pregnancy and going into your labor and postpartum period.
I look forward to best supporting you and your family during this sacred and beautiful time and hope to make it the most joyful experience that you can be proud of for years to come.
